The benefits of the teachings given in this course are, through sincerely practising these teachings you can solve your daily problems such as the problems of anger, attachment, jealousy and ignorance. You can maintain a peaceful mind all the time so that you will be happy all the time. You can maintain harmony and good relationships with your family, friends and others so that you can make others happy too. Especially you can make your human life very meaningful.

The benefits of training in meditation are, through sincerely training in meditation on the teachings given in this course you will attain spiritual realisations, which lead you to permanent liberation from all the sufferings of this life and countless future lives. There is no greater meaning than this. Even temporarily, whenever you experience problems, unpleasant feelings, depression or unhappiness you can solve these problems immediately by transforming your mind into peace through your meditation practice. The benefits of meditation are immeasurable.

You do not need to book in advance - simply enrol when you arrive. The meditation classes are suitable for everyone and can be attended at any point within a course. For more information about classes, see What to expect at a class.

How to find the South Woodford venue

The Woodford Memorial Hall is situated on South Woodford High Road (A11), easily accessible from Wanstead, Woodford Green, Chigwell and Chingford.

Parking

1) There is free parking in the street directly outside the venue from 6.30pm

2) There is also paid for parking at South Woodford Library. (The Woodford Memorial Hall venue is diagonally opposite on the other side of the High Road - approximately 100 yards)

3) Waitrose has parking for customers a few hundred yards further on from the Library.

The New Eight Steps to Happiness

These courses are based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's new book, The New Eight Steps to Happiness which reveals how all aspects of Buddhism can be applied practically to solve our daily problems and to help us to experience inner peace and happiness. This book is available from the meditation class, from Tharpa Publications, or at all major bookshops.
