Learn to be Positive, Calm & Balanced
Is your glass half full or half empty? Whether we experience a happy, meaningful life full of exciting challenges and opportunities for growth, or a stressful, unhappy life full of difficulties and problems, all depends on our way of thinking. Happiness and suffering are states of mind and through meditation we can train ourselves to think positively.
In these classes we will learn how to maintain an authentic experience of inner peace, even in difficult situations, and discover the potential for lasting happiness and joy within our own minds.
Managing Stress, Frustration & Anger
Many of us experience unpeaceful states of mind when things go wrong in our life or when we encounter difficult situations. Having to face uncertainty and unexpected changes in our life, our natural response is often to develop stress, frustration and anger.
The difficulties that we meet can be a challenge, but when seen from a different perspective, it also offers an opportunity for a deep inner transformation leading to peace and happiness. In this series of classes, we will explore profound advice from Buddha to free ourselves from stress, frustration & anger.
The Confidence to Change
We all have bad habits. We tend to identify with our habits and as a result can easily feel stuck and unable to change.
Buddha’s teachings teach us how we can to relate to ourselves in a far more positive way. In these classes we will learn how to recognise our potential and our ability to overcome our habits. In so doing we can develop a special spiritual confidence that empowers us to become the person we really want to be.
Taming our Mind:
Improving Mental Health & Well Being
Do you ever feel that your mind is like a wild elephant? Do you find that your thoughts bounce back and forth between distracting ideas and feelings without much direction or control? Without developing mindfulness, there is nothing to keep our wild elephant mind from running back and forth in its uncontrolled manner between attachment, anger, jealousy and so forth.
However, if we take the rope of mindfulness and tie our elephant mind securely to the post of virtue, all of our fears will swiftly come to an end. In these classes we will explore some of the teachings and essential meditation techniques taught by Buddha to experience the mental freedom and joy that we all long for.
