Positive Thinking & Meditation

Monday Evenings   7pm – 7.35pm

with Resident Teacher, Kadam Ai Peng McBretney

Start the week with a positive thought and meditation with our Resident Teacher Kadam Ai Peng McBretney. Each week we will explore and meditate on a simple but profound quote taken from Buddha’s teachings that we can carry with us throughout the day, helping to improve our mindfulness and making our daily experiences more peaceful and happy.

Later in the week, we will have the opportunity to revisit this positive thought by reflecting on our experiences and engaging in a guided meditation with another meditation teacher in the Friday lunchtime Wind Down for the Weekend.

Taught by an experienced meditation teacher

Kadam Ai Peng McBretney, the Resident Teacher of Duldzin Dragpa Centre, has studied and practised Kadampa Buddhism for many years under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Through her experience of putting Buddha’s advice into practice, she presents the teachings in a clear and practical way that inspires us to develop inner peace, happiness and wisdom.

How to access these live streamed classes

The online classes will be streamed live using Zoom. For the best experience we suggest you use a PC, Mac, or tablet, but smartphones are also supported.

After booking you will receive an email explaining how to join. Please leave plenty of time before class to get yourself up and running. If you have any questions, please contact us on info@duldzindragpa.org or 01992 571 354.

Benefits of Meditation

These classes will help you to unwind at home, feeling relaxed and refreshed. They will provide you with new tools for dealing with stress, anxiety and problems. Meditation also helps you to overcome negative states of mind such as anger and jealousy, and to cultivate positive minds such as patience and love.

The talks and guided meditations will provide you with the foundation for developing a powerful meditation practice. A regular meditation practice has many benefits:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Brings inner calm and a feeling of well-being
  • Gives clarity to solve our problems
  • Helps us deal with challenging people and situations

We attended the teaching 'Dealing with Loss and Change'. It was a wonderful, meaningful experience on death, and one that we will remember and treasure always.

Great meditations that are easy to follow and engaging but also provide valuable support and advice for daily life. I’m especially grateful that the centre has moved classes and courses online to continue to provide support during this difficult time
