In busy daily life, it’s easy to feel mentally overwhelmed, distracted, or stressed. When the mind is unsettled, even small challenges can feel much bigger than they are.
In this half-day course, you will be introduced to simple, practical meditation techniques that help calm the mind and create more inner clarity. No experience is needed—just a willingness to take some time out and learn something practical for daily life.
We will also explore how developing a calmer mind can positively change the way we experience situations, helping us feel more balanced, focused, and at ease.
You will learn how to:
- Learn simple breathing and calming meditation techniques
- Experience how to settle a busy and distracted mind
- Discover how a calmer mind can improve your daily experience
Led by Branch Teacher, Lill Raphael.
Includes teachings and guided meditation, with time for Q&A.

Teacher - Lill Raphael
Lill Raphael has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism and meditation for many years. She is a student on the Centre’s Foundation Programme and teaches regularly on Monday evenings at our Bishop Stortford branch venue and on Tuesdays at the Centre.
Lill’s warm and approachable teaching style makes Buddha’s teachings easy to relate to. Her sincere presentation and practical examples help people discover how meditation and Buddhist wisdom can bring greater peace and happiness to daily life.
