| | is the main Kadampa Buddhist Centre in East Herts, East London and Essex and a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union, an international association of Mahayana Buddhist study and meditation centres that follow the Kadampa Buddhist tradition founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The centre offers weekly meditation classes, half-day and day courses, Foundation Programme and chanted meditation sessions (pujas) which are suitable for everyone.

classes include guided meditations, explanations of Buddha's teachings and questions & answers. They focus on how to apply meditation in day-to-day life and are suitable for all levels of experience.

Foundation Programme (FP)provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism through a systematic study of texts written by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. FP is held regularly on Sunday mornings.

is a Mahayana Buddhist tradition founded by the great Indian Buddhist master Atisha (AD 982-1054). The Kadampa tradition was later promoted by the renowned Tibetan scholar Je Tsongkhapa and his followers, who became known as the 'New Kadampas'. To this day New Kadampas around the world study Je Tsongkhapa's teachings and strive to emulate his pure example. |
